We Dance Around the Kitchen Table

Let's crawl around the Kitchen Table or dance or hop or tiptoe!

Dafür bedient man sich der Melodie von "We Go Around the Mulberry Bush".

Original Text
Here we go round the Mulberry bush,
The Mulberry Bush,
The Mulberry Bush.
Here we go round the mulberry bush

So early in the morning.

Meine silly-billy Version:

We dance around the kitchen table,
The Kitchentable,
The Kitchentable.
We dance around the kitchen table
On a saturday morning.

We put flowers on our kitchen table. This might distract from all the dirt underneath. Those of you who live together with small children might know how the floor looks like after each meal.

If you find yourself on all four to collect the foodscrapes from the floor you just might turn this into a little fun dance with your smallies:

Just sing the melody of "We Go Around the Mulberry Bush" and replace the word "go" with different action words such as: crawl, creep, hop, tiptoe, dance etc. And do the movements according to the lyrics. I know you might find this idea weird, but believe me kids like weird stuff. So for a chance surprise them with something silly too.

Original Lyrics

Here we go round the Mulberry bush,
The Mulberry Bush,
The Mulberry Bush.
Here we go round the mulberry bush

So early in the morning.

My silly-billy Version:

We dance around the kitchen table,
The kitchen table,
The Kitchen table.
We dance around the kitchen table
On a saturday morning.

Of course you don't need a kitchen table to do this little fun activity, you could also dance around a chair, a tree or a child. Whatever you like, really!

If you can't remember the melody, just click on the video above. It is animated by the very impressive publishing company Barefoot Books. If you haven't heard of them ckeck out their great books for children!

This post is shared with the fun series After School Activities. There is so much to explore there!

Darf man fragen wo? Und tanzt Du zusammen mit Deinem Mann?
Ich wünsche Dir eine schöne Woche!
